About this experience
One of the oldest cities in China is famous for its beauty. We will visit the birthplace of silk and see how it is produced. Take a stroll in the old district of Suzhou, which has retained its traditional charm. Explore ancient pagodas and classical Chinese gardens. You will understand why this place attracted a diverse range of people - traders, poets, artists, and wealthy officials.
What to expect
Humble Administrator's Garden
What can one of the four most famous gardens in China and the largest in Suzhou offer? The variety of ancient architecture and colorful landscapes are constantly changing due to the original combinations of stone, water, and plants. We will talk about the classical Chinese garden, construction technologies, and the development of Chinese civilization intertwined with nature.
Tiger Hill
You will surely enjoy the oldest city park in Suzhou. Learn about the history of this place and discover the many legends associated with it. The park is situated on a hill only 36 meters high, so you won't get tired reaching the top. At the summit, you will see the 'Chinese Leaning Tower of Pisa' - one of the oldest pagodas in China and a symbol of Suzhou.
Boat ride and Silk Museum
Suzhou is known in China not only as the 'land of rice and fish' but also as the birthplace of silk. The Grand Canal Beijing-Hangzhou facilitated lively trade, making the city rapidly prosperous. I will suggest a boat ride along the famous canal and delve into its history. Afterwards, we will visit the Silk Museum to learn about the production process and explore an exhibition of traditional embroidery.
