About this experience
This one-day tour will introduce you to the key attractions of Shanghai, help you capture the city's spirit, and learn about its rich history. You will admire the statues of the Jade Buddha, enjoy the picturesque landscapes of Yu Garden, explore traditional Chinese architecture, stroll along the Bund, and see the vast city from the height of the Shanghai Tower.
What to Expect
Discover Buddhism at the Jade Buddha Temple
You will visit the 19th-century Jade Buddha Temple with its bright saffron walls, where a two-meter Jade Buddha statue is kept. Here you can light a stick of incense in the temple, learn about the philosophy of Buddhism, and explore the inner life of the temple, where 70 monks constantly reside.
Walk in Yu Garden
We will then head to the Yu Garden, a corner of tranquility and contemplation in the bustling city center of Shanghai. Through the bazaar district of the old Chinese quarter, you will walk into a picturesque architectural and landscape complex consisting of traditional Chinese buildings, scenic ponds, and stone compositions. Here you will find inner harmony, appreciate the balance between nature and elegant architecture, admire stunning landscapes, reliefs, calligraphy on stone, sculptures, Chinese paintings, and a huge oddly shaped porous jade rock.
Shanghai Panorama
To view the city from a bird's-eye view, we will visit the famous Shanghai Tower—the tallest building in China at 632 meters. A super-fast elevator traveling at 18 meters per second will take you to the observation deck, where you will see all of Shanghai at a glance, take mesmerizing photos, and observe its most outstanding landmarks.
Architectural Kaleidoscope of the Bund
To consolidate your impression of Shanghai into a single picture, we will definitely take a walk along the Bund, known as the 'architectural fair of ten thousand states.' Here you will encounter dozens of buildings constructed in various architectural styles, including Gothic, Baroque, Classicism, Romanticism, and Renaissance. On the opposite bank, you can clearly see the main skyscrapers of Shanghai, which transform by evening as soon as the lighting is turned on.
French Quarter
This is one of the most prosperous commercial areas in Shanghai. Here you will see how Chinese and Western styles once met, and you will feel as if you are in 1920s-30s Shanghai.
