About this experience
Even if you have visited Tallinn many times and think you know every corner here, remember that the impression can be deceptive! Embark on a quest through the Old Town: use the map and your wit to solve tasks and find clues that will help you see what the city was like in the XIX and XX centuries. You will learn the stories of transformations that occurred with its houses and alleys and leave your mark in Tallinn's chronicle.
What to Expect
'New' Old Town
It's time to find out what Tallinn was like before - not through stories, but through photos capturing the city at different times. On my tour, you will walk again along seemingly familiar streets and discover them in a new light. Photos, engravings, and sketches will allow you to trace how Tallinn has changed over the past two centuries: what has been well-preserved, which buildings have been rebuilt, and which ones have disappeared forever. Time affects the city differently: some streets and buildings that appeared quite recently have transformed beyond recognition, while other 'old-timers' have remained unchanged for centuries.
Photos to Remember
Thanks to drawings and sometimes accidental shots, you will feel the breath of time. Old photos will resurrect images of people who lived in the city in a specific era - a Hanseatic merchant, a XIX century manufacturer, a boy playing ball. And the photos you take during the quest will be equally important - because they will preserve a piece of today's Tallinn's history.
Who is this tour for
If you enjoy exploring the city independently, the quest format is perfect. Playing will be interesting for both adults and children over 8 years old. The quest is suitable not only for those visiting Tallinn for the first time but also for those who have been to our city repeatedly and want to learn more than a regular sightseeing tour offers.
Organizational Details
The tour is on foot, no additional expenses are expected. You will need a smartphone or camera to play, and all necessary materials will be provided.
