Time Travel Journey: Family Photo Quest in Tbilisi
About this experience
During the journey, you will want to capture the best moments on a camera or smartphone. I know how to make the most of this process. By looking at archival photos, you will travel to the past and explore the appearance of the Georgian capital - both present and former. You will discover famous places and hidden corners of the city. And you will also learn the stories they hold.

What to Expect
How the quest goes
I will meet you at the starting point, provide instructions, and give you the necessary equipment. The quest is self-guided - at your own pace, you will follow the route and can return to favorite locations or take a break at any time. I will always be available through your preferred messenger app (Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber), where you will send answers to the tasks. At the end, we will meet and I will announce the game results.
Live plots
The quest starts on Rustaveli Avenue. From there, you will continue your path towards the Old Town independently. Along the route of about 3 km, you will encounter several tens of notable houses - they seem to reach out and tell incredible stories in turn. You will explore them through works of famous photographers from the late 19th to early 20th centuries, as well as family archive photos.
During the quest, you will have to find places from old photographs and capture them in the same way and perspective. Keep in mind that some buildings and streets have already lost their former appearance - if in doubt, do not hesitate to ask local old-timers for help. And to make the walk even more interesting, I have added a quiz in the "question-answer" format.
Organizational Details
- The excursion is suitable for the whole family as well as solo travelers
- The quest is designed for both children and adults (provided they walk the route together). Children over 14 years old will be able to handle the questions independently.
- To participate in the quest, make sure you have:
- a smartphone or tablet
- access to the internet (if you have any issues with this, let us know in advance - and we will solve the problem)
- one of the messenger apps: Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber - Dress according to the weather and come in comfortable shoes. In case of rain or snow, bring an umbrella or raincoat.
