About this experience
I invite you to take a guided tour of the historical center in an interactive quest format. You will see the iconic streets, squares, towers, and temples of the Estonian capital. I will ask interesting questions from various fields of knowledge, and you will earn points for correct answers. In the end, we will reward the winner, and everyone will realize that they have learned more about the fairytale Tallinn!
What to Expect
Medieval Tallinn - history and legends
We will meet at Town Hall Square, where you will find secret and obvious signs of different eras, count shameful columns, ancient spires, and tongs, find snakes and dragons. We will visit the oldest operating pharmacy in Europe, where I will tell you what was the favorite remedy of the townspeople 500 years ago and why the pharmacist had a crocodile. I'll also show you dried frogs and worms in oil. Along Baker's Street, we will reach Pikk Street - the longest and most famous artery of the Old Town. You will hear why in the Middle Ages it was home to the rich and housed the buildings of merchant and craft guilds. Next, we will visit the “sweetest” house in the city, where you will see the marzipan room and the oldest cafe in Estonia.
City panorama from above and wrap-up
In the second part of the tour, you will go in search of fairytale creatures that emerge from walls, look out of windows, and walk on rooftops. Along Horse's Head Street, we will walk to the foot of Toompea Hill, where the Upper Town is located. I will show you the Tallinn Toompea Castle tower and a small park with a bronze deer on a pedestal, tell a legend about the Danish king. Here we are already in the most “ghostly” place in Tallinn, surrounded by the Maiden's and Junker's towers of the defensive wall. From here, you will enjoy the view of tiled roofs and copper-covered helmets. To wrap up, we will tally the points in the cozy atmosphere of a small cafe and reward the winner. I'll reveal a secret: little tasty prizes await all participants!
Who is this tour for
The quiz walk is primarily designed for groups with children and teenagers. However, experience shows that adult participants eagerly join in the game. The competitive spirit sharpens attention and allows not only to absorb more information but also to better remember it.
