About this experience
Berlin, touched by the history of the 20th century like no other city in the world, is extremely complex to perceive. During the tour, I will be your interpreter in communication with Berlin, help you understand the history and architecture of this challenging city, take you to old colorful cafes and tell local anecdotes. You will not only see the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, or the Berlin Wall, but also explore the city from within, piece by piece assembling a bright puzzle of Berlin.
What to expect
All epochs and styles of the city
You will walk through the Museum Island and the Kurfürstendamm Boulevard, where the spirit of the Bismarck era has been preserved, feel the strictness and proportionality of Friedrich the Great's architecture in Gendarmenmarkt Square, echoing the Brandenburg Gate. You will touch the Berlin Wall and the dents from the bullets of 1945. Pass by the Luftwaffe building, from which air raids on Europe were planned and ironically remained undamaged during the war. And then, if there are available spots, you will climb the dome of the Reichstag, and the puzzle of the city, which we assembled piece by piece over several hours, will suddenly come together into a unified image of Berlin!
Atypical Berlin 'for its own'
We will not only visit all the key city attractions but also peek into its brightest corners rarely reached by ordinary tourists. You will stroll through the 'remarkable' alleys of the 1920s and laugh at Berlin anecdotes. Step into old cafes, an open-air stage where people dance the Charleston, and a wooden Shakespearean theater. You will understand that Berlin is an introverted city, whose main beauty hides in alleys and courtyards.
Organizational details
The wooden Shakespearean theater is usually disassembled for the winter.
