Pagan Uplistsikhe and Resort Borjomi
About this experience
Imagine - in the pre-Christian era, life in Georgia was organized in a way unimaginable to the modern person, and was subject, like many other ancient civilizations, to the laws of the movement of celestial bodies. In Uplistsikhe, I will help you mentally reconstruct the distant past, when rituals began with the rising sun and ended with the appearance of the moon. This will be a meeting with a side of Georgia that you may not have been aware of.
What to expect
Pagan center of pre-Christian Georgia
You will visit the amazing place, the cave city of Uplistsikhe, which has 16 premises, each of which you will be able to explore. You will learn where pagan mysteries took place, where the priests lived, and where the slaves lived, which cave was used for economic purposes, and in which room there was a pharmacy. I will tell you what the mythological worldview of ancient people was like and what role they assigned to celestial bodies.
The homeland of the legendary mineral water
Borjomi is a pleasant green resort town located in the Borjomi Gorge and famous for its mineral water. Here is a wonderful nature and a unique healing climate. But it was thanks to the mineral water of Borjomi that it became famous worldwide. It is a gorge city, and therefore all its buildings stretch along the river bank for about 5 km. You will get acquainted with the interesting, unique Borjomi architecture. Once mansions were built here in the most different styles, up to the mysterious-looking castles. You will walk through the beautiful Borjomi park and try mineral water directly from the sources. And if you wish, you can visit the local thematic museum.
