About this experience
"Nakupenda" translates from Swahili as "I love you" - and such a name is not accidental. In one day, Zanzibar will conquer your heart: you will reach Prison Island with giant turtles, enjoy a magical beach and a picnic with seafood in the middle of the ocean. And then you will wander through the colorful streets of Stone Town and discover the history of the island.
What to Expect
By Boat to Prison Island
From Stone Town, we sail to the secluded Changu Island (Prison Island), where a nursery with giant Seychelles turtles is located. You will observe these amazing powerful animals, pet them, treat them, and, of course, take photos. Additionally, we will walk through another part of the island: you will see the abandoned prison and understand why Changu is sometimes called the Quarantine Island.
A Couple of Hours on a Paradise Island
Our next destination is the picturesque Disappearing Island in the middle of the ocean with a stunning beach. You will have time to explore the underwater world with a mask, sunbathe on the soft sand, and take a walk on the island. Afterwards, a lunch of the freshest seafood will be prepared for you - lobsters, prawns, squid, octopus, and tuna. The menu also includes rice, french fries, salad, and seasonal fruits for dessert.
Stone Town: the Real Africa
After the picnic, we will return to Stone Town to take a closer look at the heart of Zanzibar. You will see the oldest buildings on the island and discover its history, visit the former slave market and the Anglican cathedral, observe the daily life of the locals, and find the house where legendary Freddie Mercury was born. You will also have some time to browse shops for authentic souvenirs: paintings by local artists, wooden crafts, and other curios.
