About this experience
Get a comprehensive introduction to the main island of the Seychelles. We will explore the smallest capital in the world - Victoria, and then venture out of the city to enjoy panoramic views, taste tea at a plantation, and relax by a waterfall in the forest. You will learn about the development of the Seychelles and its unique nature, discover the local way of life and cuisine.
What to Expect
Top locations in the city...
In the first part of the tour, we will explore the main landmarks of the city of Victoria. We will check the time with tower clocks (I will tell you what makes them special), see the colorful Hindu temple named after the elephant god Vanayagar, granting success and prosperity. At the bustling Sir Selwyn Clarke Market, you can buy fruits, fresh catch, spices, and exotic coral and seashell souvenirs. We will also visit the Royal Spice Garden Le Jardin-du-Roi to appreciate the variety of island vegetation, see the famous Coco de Mer palm, and, if lucky, meet the giant tortoises from Aldabra Atoll.
Beyond the City
Leaving the bustling city behind, we will head to the lush rainforest-covered mountains of the Morne Seychellois National Park. The serpentine road will take us through the highest pass of the archipelago to an observation deck near the ruins of Mission Lodge school, offering a magnificent view of the western slopes of Mahe. We will also visit one of the largest waterfalls on the island and take some great photos. After that, enjoying the tropical landscapes and plantations, we will visit a tea factory where you will see all the stages of tea processing and blending.
Island Chronicles and Tales
During the tour, I will introduce you to the history of the Seychelles: I will tell you about the first inhabitants and the pirate past of the islands.
