About this experience
On the tour of magical Barcelona, we explore two completely different faces of the city: medieval Gothic and the mind-blowing world of Catalan modernism. You will visit the main architectural landmarks of Barcelona, learn about the city's history from the Middle Ages to the present day, and then choose which Barcelona appeals to you more: the era of the Catholic Monarchs or the era of the genius Gaudi.
What to Expect
Exploring Modernist Masterpieces
Let's start our introduction to Barcelona with a walk through the Eixample district, known for its stunning buildings in the Catalan modernist style. We will admire the works of the genius Gaudi and other modernist architects of Barcelona, stroll through the Quadrat d'Or and try to understand the ideas architects wanted to convey in their masterpieces. You will learn about the peculiarities of the incredible Casa Mila and Casa Batllo, explore the facade of the Palau de la Musica Catalana, and understand why Spanish bourgeoisie of the early 20th century were called 'Indians'.
Medieval Charm of Barcelona
Descending into the historical center, we will walk through narrow streets and the main city square, explore the famous boulevard La Rambla. We will visit theaters, the renowned Boqueria market, magnificent palaces, the Cathedral and churches from the 13th-14th centuries. You will see the longest and narrowest streets in the city, explore the famous Gothic Quarter, learn about the different eras of the city, and immerse yourself in its tumultuous history. Along the way, if you wish, we can stop for a cup of coffee at a place frequented by Gaudi, Picasso, Dali, and other representatives of Barcelona's bohemian scene.
