About this experience
Just 1.5 hours by car — and you are no longer in the capital Belgrade, but in the ancient Orthodox monastery Manasija, surrounded by forests. You will admire ancient frescoes and Serbian architecture of the 15th century. And that's not all that awaits you on this journey! You will also walk along a fairy-tale path in the cave with stalactites and stalagmites, visit the Lisine reserve and see the Buk waterfall.
What to Expect
Manasija Fortress-Monastery
We will head to the 15th century monastery located in a stunningly picturesque place: embraced by wooded mountain slopes, near the Resava River. You will hear how the monastery's history unfolded and what sustains it today. You will appreciate the mighty stone walls and ancient towers protecting and guarding the heart of Manasija — the Church of the Holy Trinity. You will admire ancient frescoes and be amazed by the skill of medieval architects.
Resava Cave and Lisine Reserve
You will visit one of the most interesting caves in Serbia. You will walk along a 950-meter tourist trail, observing colorful columns, stalactites, stalagmites, and petrified waterfalls. You will learn how the cave was formed and why its temperature does not depend on the season and always remains at seven degrees Celsius. To wrap up, we will visit the Lisine reserve: see the Buk waterfall and enjoy Serbian cuisine.
