About this experience
They say that if you haven't visited Novi Sad, you haven't seen Serbia. The city is also called the most beautiful in the country - in any case, both statements are worth checking out. Accompanied by stories and legends, you will explore interesting and significant urban structures. You will also visit the impregnable fortress, be charmed by the landscapes of Vojvodina, and visit the country's most popular monastery.
What awaits you
Youthful Novi Sad
City of students and theaters, different cultures and confessions - Novi Sad has absorbed diverse features but has managed to preserve the spirit of unity and has become the European Capital of Culture 2021! You will stroll through Liberty Square, visit the Cathedral of Virgin Mary, where you will see colorful stained glass windows and a carved altar made of Tyrolean wood. Walking along Zmaj Jovina street, you will appreciate the most beautiful buildings in Novi Sad. And I will tell you stories about the city's origin and share interesting facts from its modern life.
Petrovaradin Fortress
A fortress that was built for almost 100 years and that no one could conquer: 112 hectares of area and 16 km of underground tunnels. You will explore its territory and learn how the construction of the fortress is connected with the emergence of Novi Sad. Here, as you walk through its upper part, you will be amazed by the strength of the fortress walls, and the panorama of the city and the Danube landscape will be a delightful addition to the historical part of the tour.
Charming Sremski Karlovci
We will visit several wineries in this town. You will taste a unique wine that was on the Titanic's wine list and try to uncover its secret. You will learn about who in the 17th century divided all of Europe here between East and West and how it changed the landscape of the entire region. You will see the house where Baron Wrangel lived, which became the headquarters of the White Guard movement. And you will also hug the oldest plane tree in Europe and admire the largest Serbian Orthodox church of the 18th century.
Monastic Fruška Gora
The Holy Mountain of Serbia, in whose monasteries during the Ottoman yoke, literacy, culture, and faith were preserved. Here, Russian nuns, fleeing the revolution, revived female monasticism. The royal family of Serbia - Alexander I - visited the sanctuary Nova Hopovo that you will see. I will share the history of the reserve area and lead you to the most visited monastery in Serbia. And a pleasant bonus will be lunch in the most picturesque winery with a tasting of traditional Serbian dishes in a modern way.
