About this experience
Malaga is the coastal treasure of Andalusia. It is filled with cultural riches: Arab fortresses, Roman ruins, Pablo Picasso museums, and wine cellars! During our leisurely stroll, you will discover all the key attractions, get a panoramic view of the city from the walls of the Gibralfaro fortress, visit the market, and learn about the lifestyle and traditions of Andalusians.
What to Expect
- Gibralfaro Fortress, built in the 14th century on a high hill to house a military garrison and protect the city from enemies.
- Viewing platform with a panoramic view of the port and the La Malagueta bullring. We will discuss the history of bullfighting in Spain.
- Alcazaba Fortress. We will talk about the Muslim rulers of the city and explore the architectural features of Arab fortresses.
- Ruins of the Roman theater from the 1st century BC, which were accidentally discovered in the mid-20th century.
- Malaga Cathedral, built on the ruins of an ancient mosque. We will admire it from the outside without entering.
- Historic city center: Constitution Square, Merced Square, Picasso Museum and his birthplace, Bishop's Palace, Larios Street, and the central Atarazanas Market, where you can have a snack and try tapas.
- Ancient winery Casa de Guardia. Immerse yourself in the wine history of the region and enjoy a tasting of the best varieties.
- Malaga's Coastal Park - a real botanical garden with a huge variety of Mediterranean flora.
- Port and 200-year-old lighthouse. We will discuss the maritime history of the city.
