About this experience
Georgia is the perfect place to find inner peace and recharge. Mountains, lakes, and forests will offer harmony, while ancient architecture, though reminiscent of sad times past, will help you appreciate the present more vividly. Join me on a trip to Kutaisi and its surroundings for stunning landscapes and captivating historical narratives.
What to expect
Prometheus Cave
This is the largest cave in Georgia. Only a tenth of it is open to visitors. Immerse yourself in a world of magic and silence - the abode of gods, as it was believed in ancient times. Admire the whimsically shaped stalactites and stalagmites carved by rainwater from the stone over many thousands of years. Take a boat ride on a real underground river.
Gelati Monastery
There are places in Georgia that attract with an incredible spirit of grandeur. One of them is this ancient temple, founded by King David IV in 1006. You will visit the burial place of 23 Georgian kings and a cult attraction for pilgrims.
Motsameta Monastery
According to legend, the monastery was built on the site where invaders executed Georgian princes David and Constantine Mkheidze. It is believed that if you crawl three times under the ark, approach the relics, and ask the princes for a secret, they will surely help. The natural scenery is also impressive - the monastery stands on a high promontory surrounded by lush forests and hairy mountains.
Bagrati Cathedral
We will visit the iconic landmark of Kutaisi. You will hear its centuries-old history, feel the strength of the Georgian spirit, learn where the elevator appeared in the temple, and why it is not working now.
On the way, I will tell you many fascinating facts - not only historical, but also about modern Georgia, its traditions, wine, and much more. I will also suggest visiting a cozy local cafe. You will try mtsvadi, khachapuri on a spit, khinkali - after our walk, these names will acquire a special meaning for you.
