Olympus and Surroundings
Your journey to Olympus will be memorable not only for the stunning mountain panoramas but also for the rich history of these places. The tour program includes:
- Great Canyon - I will show you the picturesque canyon at the foot of the mountain, reveal its origin, and share the legends associated with it.
- Monastery of St. Dionysius - one of the oldest Greek monasteries, located on the slope of a gorge at an altitude of 900 meters. You will explore its interior: icons, frescoes, crosses, ancient manuscripts, embroidered church vestments. You will also hear the centuries-old history of the monastery - I will tell you about its foundation, destruction, and restoration.
- Olympus Museum - a cozy private museum revealing the secrets of local geology and paleontology. Here you will see ancient stones and minerals found on Olympus and in its surroundings.
