Program

The trip is designed for a full day. Of course, I will not tire you with physical exertion, but I guarantee an emotional "restart". There is no planned ascent, so this option of excursion is suitable even for those who do not like walking.

• We will start our journey at the modern women's monastery, known as "Paradise on Earth". A place of extraordinary beauty at the foot of Olympus, where you will have the opportunity to touch Orthodox shrines and feel the hospitality of the nuns (no guest leaves without a cup of Greek coffee and loukoum).
• Next, we will transfer to the city of Zeus - the archaeological park of Dion. It is from there that Alexander the Great began his famous campaign to Asia, sacrificing 100 bulls. In Dion, we will visit the shrines of the ancient gods, the residential part of the city, see the remains of houses, palaestra, main road, mosaics, baths, odeon.
• In the village of Litochoro, you will have the opportunity to replenish your strength at one of the taverns and move on.
• Plans include a drive up to a height of 1100 m, where everyone leaves their cars and continues on foot to the summit of Olympus, visiting the 16th-century monastery of Saint Dionysius (Saint Dionysius is the patron saint of Pieria - the region where Olympus is located). A walk along the Enipeas River through wooden bridges and turquoise pools with waterfalls to Dionysius Cave with the most delicious source of holy drinking water. The walk to the cave will take about an hour, because dear travelers, you must walk at least a little on the paths of Olympus to feel it.
• We will end the trip in a colorful mountain village, settling in a cozy tavern, sipping herbal tea and enjoying the beautiful view of the Olympic Riviera.
