About this experience
I invite you to a tour under the ancient district of Tbilisi - you will find the flavor of real Georgian life, multilevel architecture of old residential houses and churches framed by rocks, as well as one of the three in the city street-stairs and a magnificent panoramic view of the city and the Sololaki Ridge.
This ancient corner of Tbilisi is called the Rocky (Kldisubani) because it is located at the foot of the rocky Sololaki Ridge, partially under the fortress of Narikala. Tourists began to come here relatively recently, after the area was restored.
Program
During the walk, I will tell you about the history of this amazing district, about the city in general, the traditions of its residents, and much more.
Old Tbilisi architecture. A walk through this part of the city, which offers a beautiful panorama of Tbilisi, is a great opportunity to get acquainted with the most interesting examples of old Tbilisi architecture, harmoniously blended with the landscape.
Churches. As well as with three Orthodox churches - the Lower and Upper Bethlehem Churches and the Church of St. George. Here you can also see the remains of the pagan temple Ateshga - a temple of Zoroastrian fire worshipers, dating back to the VI century.
Steep streets lead to the Rocky district (Kldisubani) and a street-staircase built in the mid-19th century. So be prepared to overcome them, but it's worth it!
