In the Old City of Khiva, you will feel like traveling through time to the Late Middle Ages. You will stroll through the winding ancient streets, admire the mighty fortress walls, and see the famous unfinished minaret. You will marvel at the mosques, palaces, and mausoleums. And I will share the history and legends of this magical place.
What to Expect
Khiva is vibrant and unique
I will take you through the Old City of Itchan Kala, show you all the important places, and tell you interesting facts about them. The excursion program includes:
- Kalta Minor Minaret - according to the original plan, its height was supposed to reach 80 meters. But those plans were never realized. You will learn why during the tour.
- Juma Mosque - you will be amazed by the magnificent 10th-century mosque with wooden columns covered with hand-drawn patterns. I will tell you how it managed to survive to this day.
- Pahlavan Mahmud Mausoleum - I will show you the luxurious ancient building with a turquoise dome, a gleaming gilded top, and enchanting majolica. And I will reveal who Pahlavan Mahmud was.
