About this experience
Immerse yourself in the history of Khwarezm! This ancient state was a part of the Great Silk Road. From those times, ancient fortresses have been preserved, guarding the country against invasions. You will see the most significant ones: Kyzyl-Kala, Toprak-Kala, and Ayaz-Kala. As a bonus, you will visit the splendid palace of the Khivan khans from the 19th century.
What to Expect
Kyzyl-Kala Fortress. This is where the townspeople hid during foreign invasions. You will decipher its architectural features and its connection to the Great Silk Road.
Toprak-Kala Fortress. It is believed to have been the ancient Khwarezmian capital during the Afraquid dynasty. We will show you what remains of it.
Ayaz-Kala Fortress. This is a monument from the Kushan period of Central Asia's history, built before our era.
Nuralabay Palace. We will visit the palace of the Khivan khans from the 19th century. You will stroll through the ceremonial halls, combining elements of European and Eastern architecture. You will see colorful tiled stoves, huge mirrors, and much more.
