Istanbul in lights with a visit to Galata Tower in a mini-group
About this experience
After sunset, Istanbul is enveloped in a special atmosphere: warm lights, a feeling of celebration, no queues. All this sets the mood for a walk in a small group to the key places that the guide will tell you interesting stories about. Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the bustling Istiklal Street, and more are included in our program. And we will also climb the Galata Tower to admire the sparkling city from above.
What to expect
From February 23, 2024, the viewing platform at the Galata Tower is closed for restoration. We will only see the tower from the outside.
Evening Istanbul
📍 We will start from Sultanahmet Square and stroll through the cozy streets of the Old City. Of course, we will visit the mysterious Hagia Sophia, with its history full of tragic pages and secrets that could fill a book. You will hear all about it from the guide.
📍 Opposite the cathedral rises one of Istanbul's most beautiful mosques - the Blue Mosque. You will see it both from the outside and inside.
📍 Our path will then lead past the ancient Egyptian Obelisk, the German Fountain, and the Roman Hippodrome.
📍 Then we will head to the lively Istiklal Street, where life never stops. Walking along it, you will see the most eclectic architecture, passages of French and Greek styles.
📍 We will reach the Galata Tower, the unusual history of which you will learn about. We will climb to the top and enjoy the bird's eye views. Here, more than anywhere else, you can feel the free-spirited soul of Istanbul.
📍 We will end the tour at one of the most popular evening spots - the Celtic Irish pub. It is noteworthy that this building was once the consulate of the Russian Empire, and then it was chosen by Istanbul artists with their workshops. If desired, you can enjoy a beer in the pub or just take a look around to soak in the atmosphere.
