About this experience
In the light of evening lanterns, Istanbul resembles a city from the tales of 'One Thousand and One Nights'. You will stroll through its central streets, explore non-touristy corners, delve into ethnic quarters, and taste street food. And I will help you immerse yourself in the rich history of Istanbul and reveal how it lives today.
What to Expect
Top Sites in Istanbul
You will see the main attractions of the city: Hagia Sophia Cathedral, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Galata Tower, and the central Hippodrome Square. I will tell you when and by whom they were built and what myths and legends are associated with them. To touch the modern life of the city, lively Taksim area and local Arbat - Istiklal Street, filled with music, artists, and bright shop signs, will help you.
Inside Istanbul
To ensure your acquaintance with Istanbul is not limited to the historical center, I will take you to colorful neighborhoods where locals and ethnic groups live. Thus, you will walk through the Algerian-populated French Street, the Jewish Quarter, the coastal district of Karakoy with graffiti and trendy cafes, and the authentic Kadikoy in the Asian part of the city. I will tell you how people live in them: where they work and how they relax.
Taste of Istanbul
An essential component of Istanbul is its local cuisine. Along the way, I will show you the locals' favorite cafes and tell you about Turkish gastronomic traditions. You will find out where to taste the most delicious stuffed mussels and eggplants in Istanbul, seafood, baklava, and marzipan.
