Individual Quest Tour "Ancient Perge: In Search of Emperor Hadrian's Diadem"
About this experience
I know how to make getting acquainted with the history of Antalya incredibly exciting! On the quest tour, you will gain knowledge in an adventurous format, literally "digging up" information about the ancient world. Information obtained on your own is much better remembered. And most importantly - you will be the main heroes of the adventure and find the diadem of the Roman emperor.
What to Expect
We will leisurely stroll through the "city of a thousand columns", examining ancient structures that impress with former luxury. Look around: secret messages with further instructions will constantly come across your path. You will explore the ancient city, solve engaging tasks, and find the precious diadem gifted to the city by Emperor Hadrian.
During the tour with quest elements, you will:
- explore the ancient theater, stadium, agora, baths, gymnasia, and fountains
- find out why Perge is called the "city of water"
- learn why visitors of Roman baths were given clay tablets for writing curses
- understand the connection between the main city's patron goddess and the American Statue of Liberty
You will meet the "ancient" ladies whose lives and activities went beyond the boundaries of the usual patriarchal society, as well as Roman emperors and their whims. Besides, I will share interesting facts: what people ate in the ancient city, where they lived, and how they entertained themselves in the absence of the internet.
