About this experience
The province of Antalya is home to many magnificent artifacts of the past. You will see grand ancient amphitheaters, walls, gates, remains of squares and churches. I will tell you how people lived here many centuries ago, how Alexander the Great and Apostle Paul are connected to these places. I will also show you the 18-meter Kurşunlu Waterfall, surrounded by vines and coniferous trees.
What to Expect
Perge: Journey through Time
You will learn about the history of the ancient city of Perge and see its major attractions that have survived to this day: a 12,000-seat theater, a stadium, baths, gates in the form of round towers, a marketplace, a fountain, a church, and an acropolis. I will tell you how Perge became a major port of Pamphylia, how it influenced the spread of Christianity, and who was its patroness. You will also discover the unique features of local architecture and why a cascading water channel was built on the main street.
Ruins of Aspendos and Kurşunlu Waterfall
Aspendos is another ancient city in the vicinity of Antalya. You will find out who founded it, in which era it experienced its economic and cultural heyday, why it was used as a caravanserai and an open-air church for some time. Explore the well-preserved amphitheater from the 2nd century and a 15-kilometer aqueduct. Finally, we will visit the picturesque Kurşunlu Waterfall, where you can take a break from history and admire the wonderful landscapes: pine trees, oaks, moss-covered rocks, and lakes with colorful fish.
