About this experience
The ruins of ancient Perge are a famous landmark of Turkey. Unlike other cities, here you can find the largest baths and stadium in the region. You will explore these and other buildings, learn about key milestones in its history, and discover the heritage of different cultures. We will separately discuss the role of Alexander the Great in the region's history and the biography of the legendary commander.
What to expect
Immerse in antiquity
During the tour, you will grasp the richness of the city's history, whose founding date is yet to be established. We will talk about the Lydian and Persian eras, the times of Alexander the Great's conquest. A separate discussion will touch on the period of Perge's peak under the Roman Empire, when constructions that have survived to this day began.
Monuments of Perge
You will see the famous stadium and the huge ancient theater, capable of accommodating 15,000 people. Explore the baths, a complex with changing rooms, steam rooms, and massage rooms. We will also examine the city gates from the 2nd century BC and the Agora (market square in ancient cities), with trade rows embedded on its sides.
