In the Maritime Museum, we will immerse ourselves in the exciting world of ocean adventures and historical discoveries. You will see exhibitions dedicated to seafaring, shipbuilding, and other aspects of coastal life.

Secrets of Shipbuilding
In Sur, there are several ancient forts and a small workshop where doh boats - wooden vessels typical of this place - are built. For many years, people have been embarking on voyages on them, and the secrets of construction are passed down from generation to generation. You will dive into the original way of life of the indigenous population and the craftsmanship of shipbuilding. See how boats are made. Learn the history and meaning embedded in each boat.

Ras al Jinz - Turtle Reserve
From Sur, we will head to a natural spot known as the 'turtle paradise'. Huge turtles swim to deserted shores to lay eggs - this is a lengthy and laborious process. You will observe how difficult and even risky it is for turtles to move on land, so it is necessary to watch them carefully and calmly. A reserve worker will tell you about their wards in English (if necessary, we will translate). Since reptiles react to light, females lay eggs in the dark, if we are lucky, we may see this.

Approximate excursion timing:

• 13:00 transfer from the hotel
• 15:00-15:30 arrival in Sur
• 15:30-17:00 city tour (museum with boat building workshop, fort, walk along the waterfront)
• 17:30-18:30 dinner - traditional Omani cuisine (included in the price)
• 19:00-20:00 road to the reserve
• 20:30-22:00 observing turtles coming out of the sea
• 22:00-00:30 transfer to the hotel
