About this experience
Just a few decades ago, Muscat was a small poor town. Today, it is a thriving metropolis with well-kept streets, palaces, mosques, and an atmosphere of prosperity. You will learn how it managed to change in such a short period, what contributed to this change, what Sultan Qaboos is known for, and what significant political reforms he implemented.
What to Expect

You will explore all the main attractions of the city. The program includes:
- Royal Opera House - the first opera house on the Arabian Peninsula. You will learn why Jordan and Saudi Arabia protested against its opening, and which world-renowned stars performed here.
- Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque - the third largest mosque in the world. You will delve into the specifics of its architecture, admire the marble floors, windows with colored glass, Persian carpets, and ceramic-decorated arches.
- Al Alam Palace - the ceremonial Sultan's palace, which will surprise you with its simplicity and elegance. I will tell you when it was built and what events take place here.
- Muttrah Fort - a traditional Arab fort. You will climb it by stairs and enjoy stunning views of the Old Town and port.
