About this experience
During a light hike and water crossings, you will explore banana palm plantations and unusual desert vegetation, swim in delightful water bodies, and walk along fantastic cliffs. On the way back, you will visit one of the most beautiful karst lakes in the world, which, according to legend, emerged thanks to a star.
What awaits you
Paradisiacal oasis in the desert
In the morning, you will drive along the Omani coast towards the city of Sur and in an hour and a half to two hours, you will find yourself in the valley. On a motorboat, you will cross a water body with crystal turquoise water, after which there will be a half-hour hike through a picturesque canyon, along steep cliffs, fruit plantations, and natural pools. At the next stop, you will have two options - stay and spend time enjoying a swim in the pure waters of the lake and sunbathing in the warm sun amidst the oasis. Or continue: by swimming across the stream or walking along its bottom (possible in the dry season), you will reach a deep pool. On its territory, through an entrance in the rocks, you will find a wonderful cave and a beautiful waterfall, a true decoration of Wadi Shab.
Extraordinary Bimmah Lake
On the way back to Muscat, you will visit another amazing place - the so-called Bimmah sinkhole. In some rankings, it has been recognized as the most beautiful karst lake in the world! And according to local legends, the natural wonder formed after the fall of a star, which created a crater with dimensions of 50 by 70 meters and a depth of 20 meters. Descending to the water, you can take rare photos and, if desired, even swim.
