What awaits you
French market: a paradise for gourmands
We will start by visiting the French market. Walking for groceries here, rather than in supermarkets, is a sacred ritual for housewives. The abundance of bright aromas and the variety of fresh products are unlikely to leave anyone indifferent: counters with fresh fish and seafood - scallops, oysters, lobsters next to quails and quails in the meat shop. Dozens of French cheeses and pates, pickled olives and olives of various colors - we will look into every stall to the sellers, sniff and taste the most delicious samples from their showcases! And in the departments with regional products of France, we will indulge in the right foie gras and sausages from the Basque Country, as well as Provencal olive oil and tapenade.
From cheese to sweet
Understanding the shades of taste of French cheeses is a separate art form, which we will learn in the second part of the program. You will be offered various varieties so that in contrast you can better feel the differences and the dominant taste notes of each. Thus, accompanied by a glass of wine, you will understand why locals do not do without cheese in their meals, and also learn to identify the main types. For dessert, we will treat ourselves to excellent French chocolate, pastries, and perhaps almond macaron cookies - this pleasant choice will be up to you.
