About this experience
Let's spend a day like true French connoisseurs of exquisite flavors! I will guide you through the most appetizing corners of Nice, help you choose gourmet souvenirs, and appreciate the local delicacies. You will discover a thousand and one varieties of French chocolate, understand the intricacies of foie gras, and taste gelato. During the coffee break with pastries, you will hear stories about the sweet life of kings and the tragic fate of the creator of whipped cream.
What to Expect
Nice with a Chocolate Twist... and Macarons!
French chocolate can easily compete with Belgian or Swiss chocolate for the title of the most delicious. To make sure of this, we will bypass chain stores and visit a small chocolate shop with its own production. You will be able to taste and buy chocolate with cocoa from Ecuador and Tanzania, milk from the Brittany province, with blue salt from Iran, with floral essences of mimosa, and even with cardamom, nuts, and fruits. Those interested can order personalized chocolate bars and, of course, taste macarons of all flavors.
Coffee-Chocolate History of France
It's time for a coffee break at a bakery-pastry shop, where you can enjoy classic Italian cappuccino, French press coffee, coffee with rose petals or espresso, which the French drink. We can't skip dessert: I recommend choosing with your eyes! But if you find it overwhelming to choose from the assortment of pastries, I will definitely help you decide. I will also tell stories related to French sweets: how chocolate came to France and turned from a beverage into a true art, which dessert Baroness Maria Feodorovna loved, and why the inventor of whipped cream Chantilly ended his life by suicide.
Gourmet Supermarket
You will learn why French foie gras is the most delicious, how to transport smoked meats and cheeses so they don't spoil, and why dark chocolate with pepper is so good. I will also help you navigate the local supermarket and buy something you have never tried before. Believe me, any gourmet will find something for themselves in the seafood, cheese, and charcuterie sections.
Tasting Genuine Gelato
To try excellent gelato, you don't have to travel to Italy: if there is time left, we will visit a place that will captivate you from the first spoonful of this Italian delicacy.
