About this experience
Join us on a tour of the main historical district of the city - Sultanahmet. Here are concentrated all the top sights: Hippodrome Square with monuments from different eras, the Blue Mosque, and Hagia Sophia. We will explore them from the outside and inside. As a bonus to the classic program, we will visit the lesser-known Arasta Bazaar and the 6th-century Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus.
What to expect
Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus. It is a functioning mosque, originally built in the 6th century by the Byzantines as an Orthodox church. Learn about its subsequent history on the excursion.
Hippodrome Square. We will explore the artifacts from different centuries located on it: the Egyptian obelisk, the Serpent Column, the Column of Constantine, and the German Fountain.
Hagia Sophia. You will visit this outstanding monument of world architecture, a symbol of the Golden Age of Byzantium. You will learn about its centuries-old history and admire its magnificent interior.
Arasta Bazaar. We will walk along the ancient street where spices, carpets, sweets, and souvenirs are sold. Immerse yourself in its eastern flair and imagine how it looked like several centuries ago.
Blue Mosque. You will appreciate it from the outside and inside. And we will share the legend related to it about the architects, gilded minarets, and Sultan Ahmed I.
