What to Expect
Wine Stroll in Charming Batumi
Let's take a stroll together and visit three 'right' places where they pour the 'right' wine.
🍷 Let's start with the oldest wine shop in Batumi. It's over 100 years old - undoubtedly, here live memories, culture, and bright personalities of the past (their portraits on the walls).
🍷 Then we walk around the city and taste sights on the way to the next wine location. This is a modern salon that locals like to visit. Here, in a cozy and democratic atmosphere, our main theoretical communication will take place - of course, accompanied by a glass of wine.
🍷 And what happens next depends on our mood. Where are we heading, what awaits us? Your guide knows about it, precise and attentive regardless of the amount of wine consumed.
Georgian Wine: Learn and Love
During tastings and walks between them, we will talk about wine from different angles, as a national heritage and love.
- When did wine in general and Georgian wine in particular appear;
- Where does the 'amber' wine come from and why it doesn't need a barrel; which wine is the 'most' orange;
- Who is he, living in the land and giving birth to wine? Not an amphora, not a jug, and certainly not a pot; why winemakers animate qvevri and even define its character;
- The secrets of backstage winemaking, or what we actually drink;
- From cutting to kebab: juice for wine and churchkhela, leaves for dolma, pomace for chacha, and even dried grapevine will serve a purpose;
- How much Georgians drink and what wine they prefer;
- Rtveli, Tbilisoba, Gaumarjos! You will learn about the most fun Georgian festival and memorize a short toast :)
Organizational Details
- This is a walking tour through the streets of Old Batumi. Dress according to the weather, take an umbrella - then no rain will spoil our celebration.
- Wine tastings are included in the price. However, you may want to buy something and take it with you - in this case, take money and comfortable backpacks.
- Wine is an alcoholic beverage. Please drink responsibly. Before the meeting, I recommend you to eat, as wines contain enzymes and acids, and it's not advisable to drink on an empty stomach.

Just an awesome excursion! The guide not only knows, but genuinely loves his subject - winemaking. Being a wonderful storyteller, he introduced us to the world of Georgian wine once again. The excursion was enjoyed not only by me, but also by my 70+ year old mom, so I can confidently recommend it to...
