Panoramas and Wine: Friendly Walk over Batumi!
About this experience
I invite you to escape from the noisy hot center of Batumi to the suburbs - to feel its (and your) uniqueness. During a light atmospheric trek, you will encounter a variety of objects and phenomena: from fruit orchards to a temple of rare architecture. We will eat mandarins from trees, admire the mountains, sea, and city, drink wine, and talk about the history and traditions of Adjara.
Why go on this tour
- To break away from the hustle and bustle of Batumi. Down there, cars suffocate the city with exhaust fumes, do not let pedestrians pass, and park on sidewalks. It is much more pleasant to walk along quiet cool streets at the top!
- To admire the sea coast and the city, and take photos.
- To get acquainted with the nature and culture of Adjara, to immerse yourself in the past of Batumi and discover its cosmopolitan character.
What to expect
Plants and fruits, houses and panoramas
This is not a city, but not a countryside tour - more of a suburban scenic walk. Batumi is located on a flat plateau between the sea and a low mountain ridge, which is built up with private estates, surrounded by greenery. Our route will follow this ridge and further along it. What you will see:
- Pleasant corners of nature - laurel and hazelnut groves, areas of dense forests, a clean spring in an inconspicuous place
- The Batumi bay with a yacht club and a port
- Modern skyscrapers
- Coastal mountain ridges with the highest peak of Mtirala, which we will talk about separately and in detail
- Citrus orchards; from October to May, we simply pick tangerines, oranges, and lemons from branches. The locals willingly offer guests to pick a few fruits, as there are plenty of them here!
Interesting facts about Batumi and Adjara
During the tours, I do not remain silent and focus on your interests. I will gladly tell you about the nature of Adjara - where such a diverse flora comes from. About the history of the region - from the colchis and Greeks to the Turks and the Berlin Treaty. About the local color - traditions, cuisine, wine. I will have wine with me, as well as a speaker through which I will broadcast Adjarian music during breaks.
Organizational details
- We meet at the beginning of the track on the outskirts of Batumi, where you can get by taxi, bus, and even on foot if you are in the mood for walking
- Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are important, as the walk takes place at any time of the year. Batumi often has rains and thunderstorms. So, should we cancel the walk because of this? No, we will take umbrellas and raincoats, and the 'match will take place in any weather' :)

We spent four absolutely wonderful hours with Rostislav and enjoyed it immensely both from the incredible corners of nature he revealed to us and from the communication with a guide who knows and loves these places.
