About this experience
El Fayoum is located approximately 150 km from Cairo, making it an accessible destination for adventurers. The oasis is home to numerous attractions from different epochs, as well as sand dunes, lakes, and valleys. You will visit the village of Tunis and meet its residents, have lunch in the Valley of the Whales, and explore the unique Wadi El Rayan Reserve.
What to Expect
Village of Tunis
I will pick you up at the hotel and we will head to the beautiful green oasis located on a high hill in the middle of the desert. You will admire the blue waters of Lake Qarun and stone houses with domes built in Islamic style. Learn why the village is called Tunis and about the crafts practiced by its residents.
Wadi El Rayan Reserve
This is one of Egypt's most picturesque parks! I will show you the Enchanted Lake, which changes color depending on the time of day. I will explain why this place is perfect for medical and recreational tourism. If you wish, you can try sandboarding on the dunes.
Valley of the Whales
Our final stop is the Valley of the Whales, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In this area, there are fossils of prehistoric extinct whales depicting the evolution of whales from land mammals to aquatic ones. After the walk, a hearty lunch awaits you, which is already included in the price.
