About this experience
Cairo captivates travelers with its unique charm, ancient history, and of course, mysterious pyramids. For one day, we will head to the capital of contrasts, where skyscrapers coexist with slums, explore ancient Egyptian treasures in the museum, and feel the spirit of millennia at the giant tombs.
What to Expect
Early Departure
The journey to Cairo takes 6-7 hours, so our trip will start at night. In the El-Gouna area, we bypass the first checkpoint, from where all tourist transportation departs accompanied by a police car. Along the way, there will be a sanitary stop (15-20 minutes) - and early in the morning, we find ourselves in the suburbs of Cairo.
Portal to the Past
The National Museum is our first destination in the capital. It has more than 100 halls on two floors: the largest repository of ancient Egyptian art in the world. A whole day will not be enough to explore it all, so you will be accompanied by a guide who will orient you in the epochs and focus on the most important exhibits. After the museum tour, you will have free time to wander through the halls on your own.
Necropolis in Giza
In the second half of the day, we head to Giza to see the pyramids. This is the only wonder of the world that has survived to this day. You will see a whole ensemble of stone structures: the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. You will hear a detailed and fascinating story about each tomb, take photos, and if you wish, go inside (for an additional fee). After exploring the pyramids, we will visit the mortuary temples and the Great Sphinx. This is where our journey ends, approximately arriving back at the hotel at 23:00.
