About this experience
I invite you to discover beautiful Copenhagen, which combines modern buildings with architectural solutions dating back four centuries. You will see the historical heart of the city, the wonderful Langelinie promenade, and the colorful New Harbor. I will show you the winter Royal residence, City Hall Square, the Cathedral, Christiansborg Palace, and much more. I will also tell you about the history and traditions of Copenhagen, help you feel the city atmosphere, and share practical tips.
What to expect
Royal residence and stroll along the promenade
We will start our journey with the main symbol of Copenhagen - the Little Mermaid, which has adorned the Langelinie promenade for almost 100 years. We will then head to Churchill Park, conveniently located nearby. Here I will tell you about the creation of Zealand, the island on which the Danish capital is located. You will also see the new Royal Opera and the Anglican Church of St. Alban. After enjoying the landscapes of the promenade, we will drive towards the winter Royal residence Amalienborg. You will learn about the reign of Frederick V, meet the royal guards, and admire the magnificent Marble Church.
New Harbor and iconic sites of the Old Town
We will make a stop at the New Harbor - one of the most expensive districts in Copenhagen, depicted on many postcards. You will hear the history of the area's creation and visit the house where Hans Christian Andersen lived. Then we will head to the old city center, where you will see iconic tourist spots: Amager Square, the political heart of Denmark - Christiansborg Palace, the Supreme Court building, and the Thorvaldsen Museum. I will tell you who gave the green light to the constitution, explain the meaning of the underwater sculptures in the city canal, and reveal who built the stock exchange building.
Exploring the main landmarks
After a slight turn, we will find ourselves at a place where the pedestrian street is divided by two squares. This is where public executions took place in the Middle Ages. I will tell you about life in Copenhagen at that time, how criminals served their sentences, and where the old City Hall building was located. You will also see the Cathedral, built in the neoclassical style, City Hall Square, ground zero, and Tivoli Park. You will get acquainted with Copenhagen's founder - Bishop Absalon, learn about the history of lur players, and stroll along the pedestrian street of Strøget.
