About this experience
See how diverse Copenhagen can be! Tranquil, picturesque, and pastoral in the fishing village of Dragør and the historic district of Christianshavn. Creative and free-spirited in Christiania. Functional, ultra-modern, and trendy in Islands Brygge and the experimental Ørestad.
What to Expect
"Postcard" Christianshavn and Bohemian Christiania
Christianshavn will impress you with its canals, bridges, narrow streets, decorative houses, and the unusual Church of Our Saviour from the late 17th century. It is also home to the 'hippie town' of Christiania - you will learn when and by whom it was created, what customs prevail here, and what the local constitution says.
Quarters of the Future
Islands Brygge on the northwest coast of the island of Amager will reveal the history of transforming the old harbor area into one of the trendiest and most modern districts of the capital. And in the innovative micro-city of Ørestad, I will tell you how local architects and urbanists see the modern urban environment and show examples of their most unusual solutions: a multifunctional arena, a residential building in the shape of an eight, and a glass-concrete hotel Bella Sky.
Idyllic Dragør
Our journey will continue in Dragør - one of the oldest fishing villages in Denmark, with a history dating back to the 12th century. Here you will enjoy ancient streets and courtyards, greenery and flowers, fairy-tale yellow-mustard houses, and a waterfront with boats. You will also have the opportunity to try 'smørrebrød' - the famous Danish open sandwich with a glass of local beer.
