About this experience
Welcome to Copenhagen - the city where the happiest people on the planet live and where wonderful Andersen's fairy tales were born. I will guide you through the prominent corners of the capital of the Danish kingdom, from Town Hall Square to the New Harbor, tell you everything you need to know about Copenhagen and its mysterious inhabitants, and show you where to taste the real smørrebrød.
What to expect
What Copenhagen cannot be imagined without
We will meet at the Town Hall Square, smile at the golden girl with an umbrella on the city tower, and set off on a journey through the two islands of Copenhagen and the Old Town. Avoiding a stream of dry facts and dates, I will tell only the most interesting moments of the history of the Kingdom of Denmark and introduce you to the main attractions of its capital.
- You will 'read' the entire history of Copenhagen on the walls of the city Town Hall.
- Walk along the old pedestrian Stroget street and learn about the events that took place at the Old and New Squares.
- By the monument to the city's founder Absalon, you will trace how Copenhagen has come a long way from a tiny fishing village to the Scandinavian capital.
- On the Castle Island, immerse yourself in the political life of Denmark - explore the Parliament, the monarch's working apartments, the famous exchange, and the Royal Church.
- Then we will visit the iconic places of the city: the shopping center Magazine D’Nord, the Royal Theater, the favorite places of the storyteller H.C. Andersen, and, of course, the New Harbor, each photo of which is a ready-made Danish postcard!
- The Palace Square Amalienborg will introduce you to the residence of the Danish queen, the Marble and the Russian Orthodox Church, the Royal Opera.
- And finally, we will take a photo with the royal guards to remember.
The recipe for Danish happiness
It is no secret that it is the Danes who are called the happiest nation: I will help you figure out if this is true and uncover the secret of 'Danish happiness'. You will learn what the Danes eat, where local politicians like to have lunch, and you will even step into an 18th-century restaurant that preserves the history of Denmark's gastronomic symbol - smørrebrøds. I will also gladly tell you what is remarkable about the social life of Copenhagen, why the residents chose the bicycle as the main means of transportation, and share my many years of observations on the Danish mentality.
