About this experience
This little journey begins in the evening, when after the exhausting heat of Kuala Lumpur, one especially wants to relax and see the nature of Malaysia. We will pass by plantations and jungles, meet the sunset on the hill of Melawati and feed curious langur monkeys by hand. And when it gets dark, we will float on the Selangor River among thousands of fireflies - as if in a fairy tale!
What to Expect
A Different Malaysia: Away from the Metropolis. Our path to Kuala Selangor Park runs along picturesque oil palm plantations, impenetrable jungles, and small settlements - an excellent opportunity to catch a glimpse of local life and another side of Malaysia.
Evening Fort and Playful Langurs. Our first stop is Melawati Hill, on top of which we will find the remains of a fort from the colonial era. Firstly, it's a stunning spot to admire the sunset overlooking the Malacca Strait. And secondly, the ruins have long been inhabited by cute and friendly silver-black langurs, monkeys that can melt any heart... and relieve you of any extra bananas.
Firefly River: Instead of a Thousand Stars. As night falls, we will arrive at the Selangor River, whose banks have become home to thousands of fireflies. When darkness descends, the mangrove trees along the river light up with clusters of tiny lights, and you will admire them as you glide in silence on a boat. This little wonder is hard to capture in a photo, but it will certainly stay in your memory.
