Exploring Old Tbilisi from a New Perspective - On Foot and By Boat
About this experience
Just like wine gets better with time, Tbilisi gains more charm and sophistication as it ages. We will stroll through the places where the city was born - the district of sulfur baths, and immerse ourselves in its history. In the heart of the metropolis, we will discover a deep canyon and a waterfall, and from the calm waters of the Kura River, we will see the old quarters. And of course, you will not leave without tasting the 'right' wines.
What to Expect
Sulfur Baths, Gorge, Waterfall
We will meet you at Heydar Aliyev Park and talk about the benefits of sulfur baths and the ancient traditions associated with them. We will see the statue of Koba and discuss where else it is found in the world. We will head to Injir Gorge, find a more than 400-year-old fig tree and the source of sulfur water. I will tell you about the origin of the gorge's name and its history. In the bustling million-city center, we will encounter a waterfall.
River Promenade and Wine Tasting
Through a secret 200-meter tunnel, we will head to the pier where we will board a boat. During a 30-minute water cruise, we will look at Tbilisi from a different perspective. We will discuss why Georgia became a multiethnic country and the significance of the Kura River for it. We will conclude our enjoyable journey with a tasting of 'right' wines. You will sample authentic Khvanchkara and Kindzmarauli wines and understand how they differ from factory-produced wines.

We went on a tour with our 5-year-old child. We really enjoyed it! Informative, not boring, constantly on the move, took a boat ride. Definitely recommend!

It was great. I was the only one in the group. We took a leisurely walk and had a nice chat. An interesting route, not tiring yet informative. With fascinating facts about the old city that I probably wouldn't have known on my own. Thank you!

Excellent tour, David is fantastic! The weather prevented us from taking the boat tour, so instead we were shown the hidden corners of the old city, places that are rarely accessible with a guide. Personalized approach, the narration completely tailored to our interests. Personal recommendations of ...
