About this experience
This journey combines all possible pleasures in the Kakhetian style! In one day, you will delve into the history, culture, faith, and landscapes of the region at the Bodbe Monastery, the towns of Sighnaghi and Telavi. You will discover the intricacies of Georgian wine production and enjoy its taste at the factory and a private winery. Here, you will also participate in a traditional feast with toasts from the tamada, songs, and dishes of the national cuisine.
What to Expect
Historical, Architectural, and Spiritual Treasures of the Region
Over 10 enriching hours, you will embark on a journey through the vast Kakhetian circuit. The road will be adorned with picturesque mountain landscapes, while stories of the history, peculiarities, and traditions of the region will captivate you. You will encounter the most significant sights of Kakheti.
- At the Bodbe Monastery, perched above the Alazani Valley and where the Georgian enlightener Saint Nino is buried, I will share stories of the times when Georgia embraced Christianity thanks to her.
- The small "city of love" Sighnaghi will charm you with its almost Italian-like streets and views of the Kakhetian vineyards with Europe's longest fortress wall—I participated in its restoration and will tell you all about it. After a stroll, optionally, you can paraglide over the Alazani Valley.
- In the town of Telavi, the contemporary capital of Kakheti, you will get acquainted with the ethnography of the region at King Erekle II's palace and make a wish at the 900-year-old Plane Tree, Georgia's oldest tree.
Wine Galore, or a Kakhetian Feast
As a practicing winemaker, I will lovingly narrate the history and traditions of winemaking in Sakartvelo, the role of wine in the country's culture and mentality. At the Shumi winery or in Bacho's home cellar, you will see qvevri (vessels for making wine in the Georgian style) and taste two symbolic Georgian wines.
The final part of the journey awaits you with a grand Georgian-style dinner at a private winery. The menu includes khachapuri, kebabs, cold appetizers, Georgian cheeses and sweets, and of course, wine and chacha. Toasts from a true tamada (the hospitable host), a churchkhela-making master class, national songs and dances—an ideal ending to the day in Kakheti!

Went on a 'tour' with 6 people on 20.09.24. The minibus is designed for 5 people, the sixth one sat on the central armrest. The driver, who was also the guide, was completely useless. We didn't see anything (and I didn't know what you wanted to see, you didn't say anything) and didn't learn anything...

Our small group of 3 people visited this tour on September 26. It must be said that Nodari made an effort to make our trip enjoyable from the very beginning. Immediately after booking, he was the only one of all the tour guides we planned excursions with who wrote and thanked us for the order. At th...

Unfortunately, the tasting is not included in the cost of the tour, although the cost of the tour itself may hint at it. In the section for an additional fee, the tasting was also not indicated. The tour itself seemed boring to us. It was not interesting. There were also problems with time managem...
