About this experience
It is well known that the main city of Armenia is Yerevan. However, few know that it has a second capital, the spiritual one - Echmiadzin. In the Cathedral of Saint Echmiadzin, you will learn about the emergence of Christianity in the country and see significant relics. Then you will embark on a journey through Yerevan and its must-see places that are essential for any visit to Armenia.
What to Expect
Explore the Echmiadzin Shrines
First, we will visit the Echmiadzin Cathedral. We will examine its architectural features and discuss the construction of the spiritual stronghold of the Armenian Apostolic Church. You will visit the museum area of the cathedral, where fragments of Noah's Ark, the Spear of Destiny, and other Christian relics are kept.
Then we will venture into Yerevan
- You will learn about the construction of Yerevan, its first mention in chronicles, and the events that have shaped Armenia throughout its history
- You will drive through the central streets while learning about the daily life and habits of Yerevan residents
- You will visit an observation deck with a wonderful view of the city, and if the weather is clear, also of Mount Ararat
- You will explore the landmarks in the heart of the capital: the Matenadaran Museum of Ancient Manuscripts, the Opera Theater, and the magnificent Cascade - Yerevan's iconic symbol
- You will admire the modern look of Northern Avenue
- You will take a walk in Republic Square - the masterpiece of architect Tamanyan
