What to Expect
City of Contrasts
Our acquaintance with the city will begin with a walk along Northern Avenue - the main pedestrian street and a favorite place of Yerevan residents. Here you will feel the rhythm of modern Yerevan, get acquainted with its architecture, smells and sounds. I will tell you how the city's appearance has changed over the years of construction work and how the pink tuff gave the capital of Armenia a special flavor. We will also walk through Republic Square and visit the Erebuni fortress, where the ancient city began.
Yerevan from above and the main museums of the city
You will see Yerevan from the observation platform at the Mother Armenia monument. You will see the streets and houses, with the legendary Mount Ararat in the distance - the peak around which thousands of legends are composed. Then we will walk through the open-air sculpture museum and visit Matenadaran - the repository of manuscripts, where you will meet the largest and oldest book in the world. If desired, we will visit the amazing museum of Soviet film director Sergei Parajanov.
Dinner with an Aperitif
To taste the capital of Armenia, we will go to the Ararat factory. You will walk through the cellars of the factory, learn about the first released brandies, taste several types of the most popular Armenian drink and understand why it is said that most of the brandy goes to the angels. And then you will find yourself in an Armenian restaurant, where you will observe how lavash is baked and taste delicious shashlik, kyufta, and Armenian dolma.
