About this experience
During the tour, I will introduce you to the main corners of the Old Town, take you to the best viewpoints of Zagreb and its most beautiful churches. But it won't be just a simple walking tour through the hills and atmospheric narrow streets - along the way, we will visit interesting coffee shops hidden in old 'courtyards', known only to the locals! Here you will enjoy excellent coffee and taste traditional Croatian sweets.
What to expect
The Nooks of the Old Town
You will walk through the narrow streets of Zagreb's historic center, admire houses with ornamentation and charming churches, peek into authentic 'courtyards' housing cozy benches and coffee shops. I will tell you legends about the founding of Zagreb and the origin of its name, revealing the most fascinating pages of the city's history. You will visit the Cathedral and the beautiful St. Mark's Church, climb to the viewpoints on the slope of the Old Town, enjoying a wonderful view of Zagreb's historical quarters and its 'Green Horseshoe' of parks. You will also see the tower from which a cannon is fired at noon, walk through tunnels under the city hills, and, if you wish, take a ride on the Zagreb tram!
Zagreb's Coffee Culture
The coffee ritual is very important for the people of Zagreb: here, no one drinks coffee from paper cups on the go - only while sitting in comfortable armchairs, savoring a well-roasted drink! In the ancient urban coffee shops, you will observe how local baristas roast coffee from different countries and blend it into their own creations, learning about the history of coffee and coffee houses in Zagreb. And then we will definitely visit the finest confectionery with a huge selection of fresh local pastries and cakes!
