What to expect
Upper Town: the historical beginning of Zagreb
You will find out how the city originated, developed, and why it consisted of several cities. We will visit an ancient establishment for a cup of coffee and go on a photo hunt through the most spectacular spots in the area. Along the way, you can pop into one of the best breweries in the city. I will also show you the street with the best designer souvenirs, the "anti-parking" from witches at the old city tower, and the Museum of Broken Relationships. And from the Lotrscak tower, you will have an unforgettable view of the whole city and its surroundings.
Imperial and elegant Lower Town
We will then descend to the Lower Town on the famous funicular - the shortest in the world. You will walk through the street laid through a building with a unique stained-glass ceiling and see the Sun landing. I will show you the center of the traditional Saturday coffee gathering at Spizza and explain why this ritual is so important for the people of Zagreb. In addition, the program includes the Nikola Tesla monument, a photo op at the Grand Theater, and a stroll through the charming Austro-Hungarian "necklace" of Lower Town boulevards.
