About this experience
You will visit the Old Town of Dubrovnik and learn its history, which has been evolving for millennia and left a mark on every street, building, stone, and way of life. I will help you examine the local architecture in detail and feel the mysterious spirit of the Middle Ages that still permeates the entire city. You will hear legends, secrets, and mysteries of Dubrovnik, unravel its magical character, and hopefully fall in love with this enchanting place!
What to expect
"The Soul and Heart" of Dubrovnik
You will enter the Old Town through the central gates of Pile, stroll through its narrow streets, and see the main attractions: the Cathedral of St. Vlaho, one of the oldest synagogues in Europe, the Rector's Palace, the Franciscan and Dominican monasteries. Visit the Treasury and understand what the locals cherish. You will also visit the ancient pharmacy that still operates to this day. I will tell you how the history of the Republic of Dubrovnik is intertwined with the Russian, Ottoman, and Venetian empires, how people of different social classes coexisted in the past and present, and what laws and customs prevailed here.
Local Market and Main Street
You will walk along the city's main street - Stradun, which is famous for its numerous souvenir and jewelry shops. Also, be sure to visit the cozy corners of the city where national restaurants and a lively market with Croatian delicacies and folk art items are hidden. I will talk about modern city life and provide valuable practical recommendations: where to go in your free time, where to eat well, what souvenirs to buy, and which streets to explore on your own.
