About this experience
A trip to the David-Gareji Monastery, or in Russian, to the Gareji Desert, is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the incomparable atmosphere of medieval asceticism and worship! A sacred and sacral place, surrounded by legends and stories! The unparalleled rocky architecture, against the backdrop of the semi-desert Gareji ridge, will give the impression of a journey to another world and another time!
Program
- You will explore a complex of monasteries with fascinating stories and destinies, and the famous Lavra of David (6th century), renowned in the Christian world.
- You will get acquainted with the life and works of Saint Father David Garejeli and his illustrious disciples!
- The ascent to the highest point of the area, which offers breathtaking landscapes, will impress even the most seasoned travelers!
- Meal arrangements are made at the beginning of the journey: either visit a splendid Polish-Georgian cafe or have a picnic! Stock up on water and provisions before setting off.
- The undulating green meadows, dotted with sandy hills and covered with a carpet of wildflowers, will make our journey there and back unforgettable!

Excellent tour, although the weather was not typical for May, there was fog and rain, but it only emphasized the unreal beauty of these places. Before that, Konstantin and I had already been to Kazbegi and were happy to meet again. Wonderful guide and person. We recommend to everyone.
