About this experience
We have designed a route that will allow you to immerse yourself in the rich culture and history of our amazing country, discovering its heritage and treasures of the past. You will visit the archaeological museum, explore the Samtavisi Cathedral, and visit the residence of the great princes. You will walk through the winding paths of the cave city of Uplistsikhe and visit Gori, the hometown of Stalin.
What to Expect
Get ready for an exciting journey into the past, with visits to exceptional archaeological sites and unique places. In our program, you will dive into the rich culture and history of the country, experience Georgian cuisine and hospitality, and explore the most prominent attractions:
- Grakliani Archaeological Museum - here you will see the burial sites of real Amazons and explore objects of daily life of ordinary people and priests. The museum's collection boasts unique archaeological finds and is an important source for studying Georgia's ancient history.
- Samtavisi Cathedral - known for its unusual architecture and housing unique frescoes and latticed reliefs. This important religious site will also allow you to delve into Georgia's history.
- Residence of the Princes of Amilakhvari - here you will immerse yourself in the events related to the Georgian monarchy. Learn about the ancient princely family's contributions to the country's past and visit two castles - old and new.
- Coffee Break - to recharge your energy before continuing the journey, we will treat you to invigorating coffee.
- Uplistsikhe Cave City - one of the oldest cities on the territory of Georgia. This amazing archaeological site is located on a cliff and dates back to the end of the 2nd - beginning of the 1st millennium BC. You will be able to explore its multilayered history and enjoy breathtaking views.
- Gori - in Stalin's hometown, we will stop for dinner and try the favorite 'Gori cutlets' of this region. If desired, we can switch the cafe for a fish farm and dine at a restaurant there.
