In one of the most beautiful resorts on earth, you will literally touch ancient history! With our passionate guides, you will explore the Old Town of Kaleici and collect a collection of the main attractions. You will hear legends, get acquainted with local traditions and modern life, enjoy the views from observation decks, and learn how to 'tame' Antalya.
What to expect
An eventful walk through the Old Town of Kaleici
See the preserved ancient buildings (some dating back to 2nd century BC!). Get to know the architecture of three empires - Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman. Get lost in the maze of narrow streets while admiring the bougainvillea blooms. You will do all this in 2 hours. The following attractions are included in the program:
- Republic Square, where all city and state events take place. At the monument to Ataturk, you will learn about the first president and the establishment of the Turkish Republic.
- Yivli Minaret - the only minaret in the world with a fluted shape, is on the UNESCO preliminary list.
- Hadrian's Gate - the largest and most beautiful antiquity in Antalya, which has become its symbol. They were installed by the arrival of Roman Emperor Hadrian, who chose Kaleici as his winter residence.
- Old Port: admiring the yachts in the marina, you will learn about the birth of Antalya.
And you will also climb 40 steps dating back to the time of the Ottoman Empire, see the Clock Tower and the Hidirlik Lighthouse.
Feel the pulse of Antalya and get useful tips about the city
Of course, you will get to know the modern city better. You will walk along the bar street, where locals spend their evenings, and try Turkish ice cream - dondurma. Our guide will help you feel at home here: recommend delicious establishments (and suggest which national dishes to try), souvenir shops, places for independent walks in Antalya and beyond.
Organizational details
- The meeting place and time for the excursion are the same for all participants.
- The excursion is entirely on foot. Convenient stops and photo pauses with a favorable angle at the sights are provided along the way.
- The tour takes place daily along a single route (marked on the map in the 'Photos' section).
- At the end of the tour, there will be a question and answer session: you will be able to ask the guide any questions about Antalya, discuss the tour and exchange impressions!
- The tour is conducted without headphones.
