About this experience
I invite young travelers to an exciting quest that will be a real adventure. They will visit one of the oldest museums in the world. In a playful way, they will study sculptures of ancient gods. Getting to know the myths will help children better understand what they will read in books or see in art galleries and on the reliefs of buildings.
What to expect
- Children will get acquainted with Greek myths and legends – about Daedalus and Icarus, Medusa, Odysseus, and many others. We will discuss 10-15 gods of Ancient Greece.
- They will complete interesting tasks. For example, in the hall of Greek sculptures, they will find the bust of Athena. And I will tell the legend of how the gods were angry with Medusa for defiling the temple and ordered Athena to punish her.
- In the coin hall, they will learn that 500 years ago, you could buy something for one gold ducat and what the salary of a medieval condottiere – the leader of a military unit – looked like.
- They will see one of the most interesting and ancient exhibits of the museum – the sculpture of Athena, Apollo, and Zeus. They will find out who and how created this masterpiece, and also what role these gods played in ancient Greek culture.
- They will understand which of the 3 goddesses Paris chose: Hera, Athena, or Aphrodite.
- Along the way, they will draw, look for the way out of the Minotaur's labyrinth in a book, solve rebuses.
