About this experience
Every culture has stories of miraculous transformations, secret knowledge, and magical objects. These stories turn into myths, and magical items become museum exhibits. During our art-quest tour, you will explore all the museum's collections and expand your knowledge of alchemy, mythology, and art.
What to Expect
In the museum halls, I will give you cards with questions and answer options. If you pay attention, you will easily solve all the riddles. By the end of our art-quest tour, you will become an expert in art and miracles!
- We will start our journey from Ancient Egypt. You will learn about the Book of the Dead and how to avoid ending up in the jaws of the monster Ammit.
- From Egypt, we will move on to Greece. Through the myth of the Minotaur, you will see how attitudes towards anthropomorphic creatures have changed over time.
- In the Kunstkamera, you will see objects of jewelry art that were considered magical items hundreds of years ago.
- In the painting gallery, you will examine paintings by Rubens, Van Dyck, Raphael, and Giorgione. You will learn about methods to make witches fly (Bulgakov knew this method!) and understand the role of mysticism before and after the Enlightenment.
Organizational Details
- Additional expenses: museum tickets - 21 euros/adult, 18 euros/students and people 65+, free for those under 19. I will gladly buy tickets for you in advance, and we will enter the museum without waiting in line.
- You can take photos of the exhibits in the museum, but recording the tour on video is not allowed.
- If there are more than 4 people, you can split into teams and have a competition.
- If you are not in the mood to solve riddles, I will conduct the tour in a narrative format.
